Following the Church of England’s Guidance issued on the afternoon of Tuesday 17 March 2020,
All official St. Andrew’s church events are suspended until further notice
This means that:
- Any regular events hosted in the church building itself or the church hall will not be taking place. This includes Sunday services and midweek events. For inquiries relating to weddings or funerals, please liaise with Suresh directly.
- Please liaise directly with your Growth Group leaders to confirm if any alternative arrangements have been/will be made.
- Sermons will still be prepared and recorded on Sunday morning. We will aim to upload them to the Sermons & Audio section of the website as soon as possible, aiming for midday. We are also producing service outlines so that we can each take part in a 'Virtual Service'- please follow the link for more information. In the mean time, St. Ebbe's church in Oxford has started a daily midweek Morning Prayer Service video stream on YouTube which you may find encouraging.
- We continue to encourage people to follow good hygiene practices and up to date government advice re. self-isolation.
We recognise that many will feel concerned and we want to care for, both spiritually and practically, as many as we are able to. If you would value support at these times please be in touch with Andrea (Tel: 836801) who will co-ordinate our response.
We also want to reassure those in our community that especially in these difficult times we still strive to be a growing church at the heart of the community. What that looks like in practice will need to adapt as we implement the current restrictions so please bear with us as we seek to adjust.
With love in Christ,
Andrea Timms & Ed Batchelar (Churchwardens)
